PSGR Krishnammal College for Women Alumni Association

The Department of Commerce was started in 1970.From the year 2000 onwards, the B.Com Programme has gradually blossomed into eight UG and one PG streams. The Department has been upgraded into a full-fledged research department since 2006–07 for both M.Phil and Ph.D programmes by the Bharathiar University. During the last 50years, about 10,000 students have graduated, and 86 and 38 research scholars have been awarded the M.Phil and Ph.D degrees respectively. The contribution of the faculty members to the growth of the department has been remarkable. At present, the department has 54 faculty and 2400 students. It is also accredited as a Satellite Centre by various professional bodies including ICAI, CMA, ACS and ACCA.Our alumni excel as outstanding professionals, public administrators, academicians, entrepreneurs, industrialists, and social activists.
The Department of Commerce organized the inauguration of its Golden Jubilee celebrations on Wednesday, 4th December 2019, at 10.00 am in the PSGRKC Alumni Golden Jubilee Auditorium. The inauguration commenced with the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the guests of honour. Dr.R.Nandini, Chairperson, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women welcomed the gathering. The Golden Jubilee Celebrations was launched by Mrs.Vanitha Mohan, prominent alumna of the department who belongs to the first batch and is presently Chairman, Pricol Ltd & Founder, Siruthuli, Coimbatore. Dr.K.A.Chinnaraju, Secretary, Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore delivered the felicitation address. 50 inspiring and successful alumni entrepreneurs were recognized for their accomplishments. Inspiring Entrepreneurs Programme, following the Golden Jubilee Celebrations was a unique platform for the Alumni Entrepreneurs to share their experience with the students.

ENTREPRENEURIAL INSPIRE

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women has made a mark in the field of entrepreneurship, by imparting soft skills, entrepreneurship training towards empowering women to enjoy financial freedom. Entrepreneurial Inspire is a flagship event, to take the students through a journey to equip themselves with practical ideas to enable them to live their dream. The programme is committed to nurture the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship skills in the students. It is a unique platform for our alumni to give back to society by providing opportunities through mentoring, sharing expertise and opportunities. It is an ultimate destination for the students to discuss, debate and direct themselves to what the future holds in a vibrant atmosphere. This networking event gave a chance for the students to interact, built successful ventures and left a precipitate of rich treasure of experience. Dr.Radhika Meenakshi Shankar, Entrepreneurial Consultant & Founder Wise owl Consultancy services, Hyderabad, delivered the special address and presided over the function.
