Professional Conclave- 2018
In connection with GRG Birth Centenary year celebrations, Department of Commerce (Aided & Professional Accounting) of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women organised the Professional Conclave 2018. This is a novel initiative intended to acquaint key professional skills among the students and to stimulate and promote a balance between the academic education and professional skills to face the changing environment. This conclave comprises of panel discussion by experienced professionals which provides a unique opportunity for the students to explore and to hone their professional skills. The conclave includes interaction with our alumni professionals to motivate our students in pursuing professional courses.
Dr. Mrs. N. Yesodha Devi, Secretary, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women and the source of inspiration welcomed the gathering. CA. G. Ramasamy, past president of ICAI delivered the inaugural address. In his address he inspired the students, highlighting on the contribution of young generation important for the growth of our country and how professionals play a vital role. He continued that young professionals are the driving force and serve as the backbone for the country’s economic growth and expressed his wish to the management in conducting such events every year. The keynote address was presented by Dr. M. Periasamy, IRS, Joint Commissioner, The Central GST Commissionarate, Coimbatore. He ignited our students and motivated them to set goals and compete with their own self. He further emphasized that self confidence is important and failures are the stepping stones to success. He shared his experience and views on GST. CA. K. Jalapathi, Chairman, SICASA- SIRC of ICAI, CA. B. Saravanan, Chairman Coimbatore Branch of SIRC of ICAI, CMA. Meena Ramji, Chairperson, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India – Coimbatore Chapter, CS. A. R. Ramasubramaniya Raja, Chairman, Institute of Company Secretaries of India – Coimbatore Chapter felicitated the gathering. The inaugural session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. (Mrs.) S. Nirmala, Principal, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, followed by the panel discussion on the topic “Goods and Service Tax” wherein CA. K. RAVI, Chief Finance Officer, Roots Group of Companies functioned as the moderator for the discussion. Nearly 250 alumni professionals participated in the event. Coimbatore delivered the valedictory address and Mrs. Lalitha Mohanraj, Batch 1974-1977, Chartered Accountant, Mrs.Manimekala.V.Raj, Batch 1984-1987, Practising Company Secretary, Mrs. Shankuthala.C, Batch 1988-1991, Practicing Chartered Accountant, Mrs. Madhavi Sidhivinayak Batch 1989-1992, Practicing Company Secretary, Ms. Meenakshi , Batch,1997-1999 Company Secretary, Chandra Hyundai, Mrs.Aghila Devi, Batch 1997-2000,CEO,Migai Academy of Excellence, Mrs. Parvathi Srinivasan- Batch 1982-1985, Chartered Accountant, PSG &Co, MS.R. Swathi, 2012-2015 Batch–Deputy Manager (Accounts), Mrs.R. Janani 2010-2013 Batch- Senior Accountant and Financial Consultant shared their professional experience to the students on 10th February 2018.
