The Alumni Association of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women organised “Purples Day Out” to bring together students of yesteryears with the theme “come, connect, celebrate”.
The event began with the welcome address by Dr. Nandini Rangasamy, Chairperson, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women giving for the inaugural session. Following this the guests of honour – Dr.Savithri Natarajan, Principal (Retd.), PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Dr.R.Jayalakshmi, Principal, Government Arts College, who is also the JD in-charge, Coimbatore, Mrs. K.Sunitha, Correspondent, Venkatalakshmi Matric Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, Ms.N.V.Sreejaya, Secretary, Coimbatore Advocate Association, Ms.Jaya Mahesh, Fitness Trainer were honoured by the Chairperson. Dr.N.Yesodha Devi, Secretary, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women gave her address highlighting the contributions made by the alumnae. Ms.Sreejaya one of the leading advocates in the city today gave her special address. She affirmed the importance of staying connected and learning from others experience.
Dr.Savithri Natarajan’s short speech commended the efforts of the college. This was followed by the motivational address of Ms. Jaya Mahesh, Fitness Trainer whose personal experiences asserted the importance of loving one-self and facing the world confidently.
Dr.R.Jayalakshmi, Principal, Government Arts College, Coimbatore and Mrs.K.Sunitha, Correspondent, Venkatalakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore recollected their memorable experiences during their college days.
Some of the prominent alumnae contributed towards the scholarship fund of the College.
The event ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Principal Dr.S.Nirmala. The events also had further attractions like cultural programmes performed by the students and stalls – a treat for the senses. The alumnae also visited their respective departments and interacted with the faculty and students.
