Ruby Jubilee Celebrations - 40 years (1978-2018)
The Department of Mathematics celebrated its 40th year with the alumni ranging across various batches on 08.12.2018. Dr.(Mrs.) B.Tamilselvi, Mrs. Geetha Mukund, Dr. (Mrs.) S.Chitra, Former Head of the department, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Mrs A.Parameswari and Mrs S.T.Selvi, the first batch of students(1978-1981) were the chief guests of the day. The Alumni Meet started with an invocation by our 3rd-year student. Welcome Address was given by Dr.(Mrs.) K.Sumathi, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, PSGRKCW. She welcomed the alumni and highlighted the progress of the Department. She thanked the alumni who contributed a scholarship of Rs.30000. A short video of the growth of the department was presented. Saplings were given to all the alumni as a token of love. The chief guests distributed the saplings.
Dr.(Mrs.) S.Chitra, former Head of the Department addressed the gathering. She thanked the Founder Trustees for their vision and the management. She wished that the Department compete with other colleges and showcase the talents of the students. Mrs.Vijayalakshmi former HOD, talked through phone call. She sent her wishes to the department to achieve greater heights. Mrs.Geetha Mukund addressed the gathering. She has already written an article about her experience with the students which has been published. Dr. (Mrs.) B.Tamilselvi addressed the gathering. She started with a poem about students.
Mrs. Kavitha from 1994-1997 batch conducted connection game for all the alumni. Mrs. Umamageshwari of 1990 batch along with 3 others talked about their batch celebrating 25th jubilee and said that they all follow the principles taught by the faculty even now. Group Dance was performed by 1994 batch.
Dr.(Mrs.) D. Sasikala, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, PSGRKCW proposed the vote of thanks. She thanked everyone for the wonderful conduct of the Ruby-Jubilee Celebrations-Alumni Meet 2018.
